PRESIDENT'S MONTHLY MESSAGE
Dear WCRW Members and Guests,
With all of the political fanfare these days, I find myself glued to the
news. Today all of the national polls suggest that none of our
Republican Presidential Candidates are strong enough to beat the current
president. All may not be lost, and I for one, have not given up hope.

BONNIE'S BLOG!!
“Politics and morality are inseparable. And
as morality’s foundation is religion, religion
and politics are necessarily related.
We need religion as a guide. We need it
because we are imperfect, and our
government needs the church,
because only those humble enough
to admit
they’re sinners can bring to democracy
the tolerance it requires in
order to survive.”
Ronald Reagan, Ecumenical Prayer
Breakfast, Republican National Convention,
Dallas, Texas August 23, 1984
How pleasant it was waking up to the
sound of rain on the roof this morning.
Looking back on the political events
of the past week even became less
disturbing. Actually, there were some
positive events. The 49ers won their
playoff game and I’ll be rooting for them
to win the NFL division tomorrow.
Joe Biden told a San Francisco crowd
this week that he thought the
Giants were sure to win. He got a
little confused between football and
baseball. Poor Joe.
We saw two more Republican
Presidential debates this week. The fight
is on! This article pretty well sums
up where we are in the process:

After
the South Carolina
Primary today, it’s on to Florida. The next
debate is Monday and you can link
to all the next debates and those
you missed here.

Now for the bad news. President Obama
rejected the Keystone Pipeline plan
this week. He seemed to be afraid he
won’t get his reelection campaign money
from his “green” pals if he approved it.
Read all about it here:

For a little good news, at least for now,
it seems that SOPA and PIPA have been
tabled. Read
about it here:

The Utah Legislative Session begins
Monday, January 24. You can follow
the session at this site:

An issue we should really keep our
eyes on is the proposed Toll Road
through the Gorge on highway 15.
You can read about it here:

I guess I’ll keep an eye on the results of the South
Carolina primary tonight until
Doc Martin comes on. It should be interesting. More to come next week.

After graduating from Dixie High School she attended Brigham Young
University earning her Bachelor of Fine
Arts Degree. It was there that she
met and married her sweetheart of 32 years, Dean J Cox.
Together they made their home in St. George and raised four beautiful
children.
Her interest in politics began early. She and Dean enjoyed helping
Republican candidates with various local, State, and Federal campaigns.

THE
REPUBLICAN CREED:
I BELIEVE, as Lincoln did, that the proper function of the government is to do
for the people only those things that have to be done, but cannot be done by
individuals.
I BELIEVE faith in the individual is the only true foundation of our national
strength.
I
BELIEVE that free enterprise and encouragement of the individual incentive have
given this nation an economic system second to none.
I
BELIEVE in equal rights and equal justice for all regardless of race, sex,
creed
or color.
I
BELIEVE we must retain those principles of the past worth, retaining, yet always
be receptive of new ideas.
I
BELIEVE that in the spirit of international kinship we must help other free
nations
defend themselves from aggression when so requested.
FINALLY, I BELIEVE that through the Republican Party these ideals can become
action
and through them, America can continue to be the great,
free nation she
has always been.
